Youth and Connexions Service Small Grant for Outreach youth

Outreach youth have been awarded a small grant from Suffolk Youth & Connexions service to develop an LGBTQ Youth Advisory group and online forum.

The Advisory group will be avaialble to act as a consultative forum on issues related to LGBTQ young people in Suffolk.

Sir Ian McKellen Meets Outreach youth


Young people from Outreach youth had the opportunity to meet Stonewall founder Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf) on Friday 27th November 2009.
Ian was in Suffolk as part of Suffolk Education Champions - to challenge homophobic bullying in schools.
Over tea and cakes at Endeavour House young people chatted to him about lgbt issues in Suffolk, his past work and their ideas for the future.

Anti Bullying Week in Suffolk

Outreach youth will be leading two 'Homophobic Bullying' workshops on Monday 16th November 2009 at Trinity Park.
The event is open to all Suffolk High and Midddle schools who are sending student representatives.

Outreach youth wins Young Suffolk Award

Outreach youth is celebrating its success at winning the Presidents Award at the Young Suffolk AGM on Wednesday 11th November 2009. Two young people were presented with the award and a cheque for £250.

Outeach youth at Suffolk PRIDE

Outreach youth was pleased to be involved in organising Suffolk's first Pride on Sunday 13th October 2009.
With our own youth tent - we were able to promote the project and provide a mural workshop, fabulous jewellery workshop, willow sculptures and masks.

It was a great day and planning has started for 2010 where we hope to be bigger and better!
